Slack again. Dueled Andrew and Dillen in class. Teacher didn't care. Was watching Taxi 3. Damn pervertic lor the show. Got this scene where the female antagonist did a blowjob on the male protagonist. Then in the end, the other male protagonist had to make love with his fiancee to make her marry him (her demand was that he had to convince her to marry him by showing her how he made love...) Plus the female antagonist keep on having sexual approaches towards the male protagonist and the police chief. Damn sick but still funny. Haha.

Just because there was no final statement and words to show what the marking means, s/he mark me down like nobody's business. Though some mistakes is really i do wrong one... (I friggin forgot Zn was +2 charge. Must remember that the default chagre for transitions metals is 2+ unless otherwise stated.) Hell. Just need to be more thourough and careful for the exam. This saturday got french exam... Screwed. Need to mug. Now my schedule chao tight, tonight have file and homework, tmr need to mug chinese, friday need to mug french, weekends need to mug chem (mainly) and other subjects. Whew.

After like 2¾ hrs of studying chem polyatomic ions, I have finally found some obscure method for finding out the ions' charge. (Okay, most of the time was spent chatting, playing shockwings, flightgear and lf2...) Here goes:

Step 1: Determine if the polyatomic ion is a oxoanion or not. If it is, check that if that is a carbon oxoanion. If it is a carbon oxoanion, proceed to step 5. If it isn't, proceed to step 3. If it isn't a oxoanion in the first place, just move on to step 2.

Step 2: This is damn simple, just get the charges of all the atoms in this ion and add it all together. The ions you need to know are Ammonium and Hydroxide.

Step 3: The sian part, treat the first row of negatively charges anions on the periodic table as -1, -2 and -3 instead of -3, -2 and -1. Then take the second row as -3, -2 and -1. Thats all you will need for now. (Warning, this only applies to findin out oxoanions, use the charges the teacher taught you for other things like normal anions.)

Step 4: Look at the root of the name you were given, tally it with the "changes" to the periodic table. Look at the "new" charge I have given it. Thats your charge for that oxoanion. (Don't bother counting the oxygen atoms, there are no oxygen oxoanions you genius.) Eg. Phosphate, it has a -3 charge.

Step 5: For some warped reason or another, carbon oxoanions are always have a -2 charge. Don't ask me why. I don't friggin know. Eg. Carbonate, Carbonite, Carbon-whatever has a -2 chare/

Step 6: If there is a extra element in front of your oxoanion, add/minus its charge (the charges your teacher taught you) from your oxoanion. Eg. Hydrogen Phosphate, it has a -2 charge. Eg2. Hydrogen Carbonate has a -1 charge.

Note: the only exception here is Cyanide. I can't friggin find a way to implement it into this method. Guess I will have to memorise it the hard way. (CN, -1 charge. Simple.) At least there is only one anion for me to remember. Beats having to remember the whole list the teacher gave you... Right?

Covalent, no brainer, especially binary covalent compounds. Hell, I am gonna need to sit down one day and memorise all of the polyatomic ions or devise some method to easy recognisation. Bleh. Go slack liao.

Dang. Feeling damned stressed now. Still have a Higher Chinese file to compile and a little homework to complete. Higher Chinese exam this Friday. Sure die liao. Need to mug. (Come to think of it, what is there to mug?) Then still got chem. Bleah. The teacher who marked my chem test 3 was chao strict lor. Just because there was no final statement and words to show what the marking means, s/he mark me down like nobody's business. Though some mistakes is really i do wrong one... (I friggin forgot Zn was +2 charge. Must remember that the default chagre for transitions metals is 2+ unless otherwise stated.) Hell. Just need to be more thourough and careful for the exam. This saturday got french exam... Screwed. Need to mug. Now my schedule chao tight, tonight have file and homework, tmr need to mug chinese, friday need to mug french, weekends need to mug chem (mainly) and other subjects. Whew.

Pops wanted to defrag the com's C drive and scan it for viruses/spyware/adware. Took him untill tonight. Could not use the com all day. After like 2¾ hrs of studying chem polyatomic ions, I have finally found some obscure method for finding out the ions' charge. (Okay, most of the time was spent chatting, playing shockwings, flightgear and lf2...) Here goes:

Step 1: Determine if the polyatomic ion is a oxoanion or not. If it is, check that if that is a carbon oxoanion. If it is a carbon oxoanion, proceed to step 5. If it isn't, proceed to step 3. If it isn't a oxoanion in the first place, just move on to step 2.

Step 2: This is damn simple, just get the charges of all the atoms in this ion and add it all together. The ions you need to know are Ammonium and Hydroxide.

Step 3: The sian part, treat the first row of negatively charges anions on the periodic table as -1, -2 and -3 instead of -3, -2 and -1. Then take the second row as -3, -2 and -1. Thats all you will need for now. (Warning, this only applies to findin out oxoanions, use the charges the teacher taught you for other things like normal anions.)

Step 4: Look at the root of the name you were given, tally it with the "changes" to the periodic table. Look at the "new" charge I have given it. Thats your charge for that oxoanion. (Don't bother counting the oxygen atoms, there are no oxygen oxoanions you genius.) Eg. Phosphate, it has a -3 charge.

Step 5: For some warped reason or another, carbon oxoanions are always have a -2 charge. Don't ask me why. I don't friggin know. Eg. Carbonate, Carbonite, Carbon-whatever has a -2 chare/

Step 6: If there is a extra element in front of your oxoanion, add/minus its charge (the charges your teacher taught you) from your oxoanion. Eg. Hydrogen Phosphate, it has a -2 charge. Eg2. Hydrogen Carbonate has a -1 charge.

Note: the only exception here is Cyanide. I can't friggin find a way to implement it into this method. Guess I will have to memorise it the hard way. (CN, -1 charge. Simple.) At least there is only one anion for me to remember. Beats having to remember the whole list the teacher gave you... Right?

1. Saturday morning is such a nice time of the week. The trains and buses are not crowded for once.

Well, save for the charges for polyatomic ions, especially polyatomic anions. Bah. The normal cations and anions, simple, binary ionic compounds. Covalent, no brainer, especially binary covalent compounds. Hell, I am gonna need to sit down one day and memorise all of the polyatomic ions or devise some method to easy recognisation. Bleh. Go slack liao.
